Description

Sometimes humans need to come in and out of the fencing area! Gates can be set during the initial installation or after as needed.

The gate frame tubing is made from 1 3/8 powder-coated steel and is designed to be much more durable over time.

The gate kit relies on the use of one of the post assemblies from your freestanding system installation as the hinge side of the gate. The main image above shows this assembly in gray. This gate kit comes with one additional post to complete the gate, not two. This gate must be installed with one of your freestanding system posts serving as the hinge post. If this does not work for your gate location, you will need to contact us to add an additional post assembly to your order.

Important

Gates are offered specifically to the version/height of the fencing selected. Be sure to select the correct gate that matches the height/version of your chosen dog fence system. For example, a 4.5ft height gate will not work with a 6ft height dog fence system. Only a 4.5ft height gate will work with a 4.5ft height dog fence system.

The height of our heavy-duty gate is available to match the version of the freestanding dog fence purchased:

  • 4.5ft Height Gate (designed for the 4.5ft tall Freestanding Dog Fence System)
  • 6ft Height Gate (designed for the 6ft tall Freestanding Dog Fence System)
  • 6ft Height Gate - Escape Proof Top (designed for the 7ft Tall w/ Escape Proof Top)

Each gate version is available in 36" Width or 60" Width.

Our gates are only designed to be used with our Freestanding Fencing System.

Installation

Please note that gates do not arrive pre-assembled. We provide you with all of the tubing, fittings, and hardware to assemble the gate. Additionally, because the gates are designed to fit into your existing fence line, mesh fence material is installed on the gate at the same time it is installed on the rest of the fence line.

Socket Sizes Useful for Assembly:

  • 1/2"
  • 9/16"
  • 13mm

Perfect Gate to integrate into our wire mesh fence

I'm a renter so we put up a wire mesh fence with t-posts for our dog run. Jen at Dog-Proofer helped me figure out what I would need to integrate the 4.5' gate into our existing wire mesh fence. I just needed to purchase the extra hinge post and sleeve since I wasn't using the full fence system. Everything worked out amazingly and we are extremely happy with our decision of choosing Dog-Proofer. The only issue was the sleeves were very hard to hammer in and we used the top side of our t-post driver with placing some 2x4 scrap wood on top of the sleeve so we didn't damage the sleeve. I'd recommend that they provide the drive caps that come with the regular freestanding fence system. But overall, we are extremely happy how it turned out. Thanks to Jen & Dog-Proofer for making sure all our questions were answered prior to placing our order.

Be careful that the tension of the wire doesn't pull your fence poles out of place. We had everything set up then realized the gate latch didn't reach. Definitely a user error but could have been avoided.

It’s a pretty good system.

Excellent Dog Fence

We were looking for a dog fence for our backyard that wasn't going to break the bank and found Dog Proofer. We couldn't be happier with our fence and gates. It was fairly easy to install; unfortunately, we have a very rocky backyard. However, now that it's up, our dogs LOVE it!

Perfect for our dogs

It was great to have our questions answered prior to purchasing. We got everything we needed. Took us some time to put up, especially the poles. Directions were helpful, especially adding the gate. Our dogs are definitely enjoying their new space.

Review

Overall the fence system is great. It contains my 90 pound German Shepherd with ease. He has gone to the fence line, and fence it self to guard against the pesky alley cat. We ourselves had issues with installation due to the dry ground cracking and splitting as we hammered the ground sleeves in to place. Another issue is the ground sleeves mushrooming whilst hammering in to place. Using the included "hammering slug", it would take 30-45 minutes to get the aforementioned tool out due to the mushrooming effect. Some poles were not driven to its desired depths, but it is still serviceable. Overall i would recommend this product, as it works, and gives us piece of mind that Malenko is safe and secure.
